Pure Joy

Last night, as I work on homework and Mark gets home from running some errands, we were casually talking back and forth. We were talking about nothing of any importance really. He looks over to find me crying. Yes, crying. Obviously he comes rushing over concerned and asks me what is wrong. My response, “I am just so happy”.

Mark and I have been so incredibly blessed. I look at our life and it is hard to believe this is all really happening. We have an overwhelming amount of support from friends and family, his business is doing better than ever, and our marriage is the strongest it has ever been. God has truly blessed us.

I look back at our infertility struggles over the past few years, and I realize now that had we not faced that heartbreak and struggle, we couldn’t feel the joy we do now. I wake up every single day blown away by the fact that it just keeps getting better. This brings me back to my favorite verse through all of our struggles the past few years.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.-

Jeremiah 29:11

God is so good and he sure keeps his promises. 🙂

P.S. This verse now hangs in our nursery awaiting our foster babies and hopefully our future adopted son or daughter. 🙂

It is all happening so fast.

Today I got an e-mail from our licensing agency informing me that Mark’s finger print card was processed a lot quicker than they expected. As a matter of fact, all of our paperwork was going a lot quicker than we originally expected. Combine this with our recent pass on our home inspection, and what do you get?

We are going to be 1st time parents a LOT faster than we thought. In fact at this rate, we are going to be parent before we even get to have our foster shower!!!

Henderson Babymoon

For those of you who don’t know, a babymoon is a final getaway for first time parents before kids come. This is typically for pregnant momma’s of course, but Mark and I figured why shouldn’t we have a getaway too?

We packed up our truck and our dogs and hit the road for my families cabin in the mountains. Along with a 50 degree temperature drop, we got fresh air, relaxation, and lots of quad riding. It was exactly what Mark and I needed before having our world turned completely upside down!Foster Care Prep 020 Foster Care Prep 025 Foster Care Prep 027
